The Supermarine Spitfire

This iconic fighter of World War II of the British Royal Air Force proudly defended England against the German Luftwaffe. A single engine aircraft built for speed, it is renowned for it's role in the Battle of Britain. The Spitfire was customized several times to improve its performance in battle, shoot down V-1 flying bombs, and even was available to be customized for reconaissance. Though legendary for its dogfighting prowess, the Spitfire is also remembered for it's elegance in design and form. Arguably the most famous warrior of World War II.
